Blowing Cinnamon Through Your Front Door: How and Why

Ground cinnamon, right hand, blow it through the door

This is one of the oldest ones I teach and it takes about four seconds, which is why I like it.

Put a little ground cinnamon in your right hand. Stand at your front door. Blow it through the doorway into your home.

That is the whole ritual. Ground cinnamon, right hand, through the front door.

When to do it 📆

The first of the month. Or around the new moon, which is how I usually do it, because the new moon is about new intentions and new beginnings and that is exactly what you are calling in.

Either is right. If you want to do both, do both.

Why cinnamon 🧡

Cinnamon is connected to the properties of abundance. It always has been and it always will be. That is not something I invented and it is not new, it is one of the oldest associations there is.

Ground, not sticks, for this one. You need it fine enough to actually carry on your breath.

The coffee version ☕

Here is a small one to go with it, and this one is very big with my people.

Put a little cinnamon on top of your coffee. Stir it clockwise three times. One, two, three. And make a wish.

Clockwise matters. You are drawing in, not sending away.

What to expect 🤍

A ritual supports attention. It is not a guarantee of a financial return, and anybody promising you that is selling something.

What it does is mark the doorway, and mark the month, and put you in the position of deliberately inviting something in rather than waiting to see what turns up. That is worth four seconds on the first of the month.

Does it have to be ground? 🥄

For the doorway, yes. You need it fine enough to actually travel on your breath, and a stick will not do that.

Sticks have their place. Keep a piece in a little sack with your money, and put one in your simmer pot, where either form works perfectly well.

Which direction do I blow it? 🚪

Into the house. You are standing at your own front door and inviting abundance across the threshold, so it travels inward, the same direction you want money to travel.

This is the same logic as money through the door, where the change gets thrown inward and left where it lands.

How much cinnamon 🤏

A pinch. Enough to sit in your palm and lift when you blow. This is not a ritual that rewards generosity of quantity, and you will be sweeping it off the hall floor if you overdo it.

Speaking of which, the dust that settles inside is fine to leave for a day or two if you want to. Same principle as the change.

Can I do it if I live in an apartment?

Yes. Your front door is your front door, whatever is on the other side of it. Blow it inward from your own threshold.

What if I miss the first of the month?

Do it at the next new moon, or do it the day you remember. A ritual done late is better than a ritual skipped, and the new moon comes around every month regardless.

Can I do it more than once a month?

You can, though I would not. The first of the month and the new moon have weight because they are beginnings. Doing it on a random Tuesday dilutes the thing that makes it work.

Does it matter which hand?

Right hand. It is the giving and sending hand, and it is the same hand you use to throw the change through the door and to throw the old water out at the full moon. That consistency is not an accident.

Is this a money spell?

No, and I do not use that word. This is a ritual, and a ritual supports your attention rather than commanding an outcome.

What to pair it with 🔗

The new moon is the natural moment for it, and it sits alongside the rest of that evening: cleaning out your wallet and rebuilding it properly, and setting the intention you are actually planting.

If you want the bigger picture of why any of this works, start with how to manifest money, which is the ground floor of everything I teach about this.
