You self soothe through connection, beauty and company. Being with someone kind genuinely settles your nervous system, and that is legitimate.
The version that costs you is agreeing your way out of every difficult feeling until you cannot locate what you actually think.
Watch for the resentment that surfaces three weeks late, attached to something small.

Let one disagreement stand unresolved this week. Do not smooth it, do not apologise for it.
Discomfort between two people is not the same as danger. You are allowed to let it exist.
I can be in conflict with you and still be safe.
