You were built to go first, Aries
You have been called impatient, too much and too intense by people who were waiting for permission you never needed.
Your sun is in Mars ruled Aries, which means your soul's assignment this lifetime involves courage, initiative and the willingness to be first through the door.
Your sun is not a description of who you already are. It is the direction your soul is growing in, which is why reading it can feel like a prediction rather than a portrait.
What Aries is here to become ☀️
In my teachings the sun is not a description of who you already are. It is the direction you are growing in. Aries is not born brave. Aries is here to learn what real courage costs.
Your purpose runs through beginnings. Starting the thing nobody else will start. Saying the sentence the room is avoiding. Being willing to be wrong in public because standing still is worse.
How it looks when it is working 🔥
When your sun is working properly you are the person who makes things happen. Decisive without being cruel. Direct without being careless.
You give other people permission simply by moving first. That is your actual gift, and it is bigger than you think it is.
Where it goes wrong 🌑
The Aries shadow is needing an opponent. When there is nothing to push against, you will manufacture something, because friction feels like aliveness and stillness feels like death.
Watch for the trail of things you started and abandoned the moment they stopped being exciting. Watch for anger that arrives before you have understood what you are actually feeling.
Stop confusing your reaction with your intuition.
Your spiritual assignment 📚
Finish one thing you have already started. Not a new project. An old one, carried to the end after the excitement has drained out of it.
Anyone can start. You are here to learn what it takes to stay.
My courage does not require an enemy.
What does it really mean to be a Aries?
Your sun is the thing you are here to become, not a personality quiz result. For Aries that is starting things. The work is finishing them, and the discovery that the second half is where it is actually built. Ruled by Mars, cardinal fire.
Is my sun sign the same as my star sign?
Yes. Star sign, sun sign and zodiac sign all mean the same thing, and it is the one you get from your birthday alone. It is also the only one most people know, which is why so much astrology feels vague.
Why do I not feel like a typical Aries?
Because you are not only a Aries. Your moon and rising change the whole picture, and a Aries sun with a water moon reads nothing like a Aries sun with a fire moon. Find all three with the calculator and it usually explains itself.
Who is Aries most compatible with?
The honest answer is that sun sign compatibility is the weakest tool in the box. Your opposite is Libra, which is friction and fascination at once. For anything real, look at Venus, Mars and the seventh house rather than two birthdays.
What is the difference between my Aries sun and my rising?
Your sun is who you are. Your rising is what people meet first. Plenty of Aries suns are never read as Aries at all, because the rising got there before them.

Read Aries moon and Aries rising too, and the big three.
Your light, one day at a time 📓
If you want to work with this daily rather than read it once, the Sun Sign Journal has a Aries sun edition. Every day from August 28, 2026 through December 31, 2027 gets its own page: a prompt written for your sun sign, the moon phase, a tarot teacher, a word from the glossary, and three timed check-ins at 9 AM, 3 PM and 9 PM.
Your sun is only one of three 🔎
Aries sun runs March 21 to April 19, ruled by Mars, and it is cardinal fire. But your sun is one placement out of three that matter most. Read what Aries moon means for your emotional life, and what Aries rising means for how the world meets you. If you are still working out your placements, start with your big three explained.
If you do not know your moon and rising yet, my big three astrology calculator will work them out for you. All it needs is your birth date, time and city.
