Everybody tells you everything, Cancer rising
Strangers confide in you. Children come to you at parties. People you barely know end up explaining their divorce to you in a grocery store line.
The Moon rules your doorway, so the first thing the world meets in you is receptivity. You feel the room before you have consciously read it.
Your rising sign is not who you are pretending to be. It is the doorway your spirit chose to arrive through, and everything anyone learns about you, they learn by walking through it first.
What people meet first 🌊
There is a softness to a Cancer rising that people register as safety. Your face is expressive and often round through the cheeks, and your eyes do a great deal of the talking.
You are also, quietly, guarded. People feel welcomed by you long before they are actually let in, and most of them never notice the difference.
The other thing people meet is your attentiveness. You remember the details. You ask about the thing they mentioned in passing three weeks ago.
The gap between the door and the room 🚪
Here is the part nobody sees. The doorway that makes everyone feel held does not come with an off switch, and no one thinks to ask who is holding you.
You have built a life full of people who rely on your steadiness and have no idea you have needs, because you have never once led with them. That was a choice you made so early it does not feel like a choice anymore.
Your shadow 🌑
Cardinal water leads with care, and care can become control when it goes unexamined. The shadow of Cancer rising is caretaking as a way to stay necessary.
Watch for the help nobody asked you for. Watch for the resentment that arrives afterward, and how quickly you bury it. Watch for how much of your identity depends on being the one who handles it.
Stop mothering people who never asked you to. It is not generosity if the cost is invisible to everyone including you.
Your spiritual assignment 📚
Ask for something. Out loud. From someone who loves you.
Not a test to see if they will offer first. An actual request, made plainly, with the discomfort of not knowing whether the answer will be yes. That discomfort is the assignment.
I am allowed to be cared for, not only to be the one who cares.
