Hello, my peeps ✨
“Sometimes the place connected to the wound becomes the place where you finally learn you are no longer powerless.”
I want to talk about the word home.
A friend said something to me that would not leave me alone. She told me she had promised herself she would never live in Texas again. Never. And then life brought her right back to Texas, reunited her with an old love and placed her on a farm in West Texas, happy in the very state she had already rejected in her mind.
I understood that story immediately, because I had my own version of the word never. I said I would never live in Spring Hill, Florida. My grandmother moved there in the 1980s and early 1990s. My mother moved there to be closer to her when I was sixteen. For me, Spring Hill did not feel like a peaceful little Florida town. It carried the emotional memory of abandonment. I was not rejecting a ZIP code. I was rejecting what my younger nervous system believed that place meant.
Even when I moved to Florida in 2005 with three children, one thousand dollars and faith that probably looked irrational on paper, I chose New Tampa. I refused Spring Hill. And now, here I am. Not Springfield, as I sometimes accidentally say. Spring Hill. The place I said I would never live.
“Home is not always the place where nothing painful happened. Sometimes home is the place where you return with choices your younger self never had.”
That distinction matters. Going back is not automatically going backward. A place can hold a memory without owning your future. The adult you can stand in the same geography and create a completely different emotional address. The house can be new. The boundaries can be new. The people inside it can be new. Most importantly, the meaning can be new.
The soul lesson of the week: stop asking whether you are back in the same place. Ask whether you are showing up as the same person.
The astrology: the New Moon seed begins to move 🌙
The Virgo New Moon was exact on September 10 at 11:27 PM Eastern. By Sunday, September 13, the Moon is waxing. The light is returning, the intention has been planted, and the week shifts from deciding what needs to change to participating in the change. A waxing Moon does not demand instant proof. It asks for visible cooperation.
Sunday, September 13 · Mercury trine Uranus. 10:39 PM Eastern, 5°42′ Libra and Gemini. Mercury in Libra forms a flowing trine to retrograde Uranus in Gemini. A new idea, unexpected message, honest conversation or different interpretation can loosen an old mental knot. This is excellent energy for rewriting the story attached to a person or a place, as long as different is not confused with reckless.
Monday, September 14 · Sun sextile Mars. 3:52 PM Eastern, 22°01′ Virgo and Cancer. Virgo organizes, Cancer protects home, family, memory and emotional safety. Useful energy for doing something concrete: clean the room, make the appointment, repair the household system, cook the meal, or take one action that makes home feel more functional and secure.
Those first two days give the week a constructive opening. The mind sees another possibility, and the body receives enough momentum to act on it. Do not waste that gift arguing with the old explanation.
Tuesday, September 15 · Venus square Pluto. 2:35 PM Eastern, 3°16′ Scorpio and Aquarius. Love, money, loyalty, jealousy, control, belonging and power can feel intensified. A square is friction that requires a decision. Watch the urge to test people, withhold affection, spend for emotional relief or confuse possession with safety. The honest question is not who has the power. It is what fear keeps asking for control.
Later Tuesday, Neptune sextiles Pluto at 10:09 PM Eastern, adding a slower collective undertone of spiritual and psychological transformation. We may not see the entire result now, but we can recognize which old story is losing its authority.
Friday, September 18 · Mercury opposite Saturn at 6:00 AM Eastern, First Quarter Moon at 4:44 PM Eastern. Mercury in Libra opposes retrograde Saturn in Aries. The conversation meets the boundary. A delayed answer, serious decision, contract concern or difficult truth may require patience. Do not assume not yet means never. Then the Moon reaches its First Quarter phase one week after the Virgo New Moon. This is the action and adjustment phase, where pressure reveals whether the new intention has a working structure. Correct the plan without abandoning the purpose.
The week does not ask us to romanticize home, family or the past. It asks us to separate memory from destiny. A home is not healed because it looks beautiful. It is healed when truth, safety, responsibility and emotional choice are allowed to live there together.
Your practice for the week: choose one physical area of your home and one emotional agreement connected to home. Clean or repair the physical area. Rewrite the agreement in one sentence beginning, “In my home, I am now allowed to…”
The numerology of the week 🔢
I do not believe numbers force events. I believe they describe the vibration moving through a moment, the address of the energy. This week begins with movement, places responsibility in the center, and ends by asking us to speak about what we learned.
2026 is a Universal 1 Year. 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 10, which reduces to 1. Identity, initiation, leadership and the beginning of a fresh nine-year cycle.
September is a 10/1 month. September is month 9 inside a Universal 1 Year, so 9 + 1 = 10, which reduces to 1. Completion and initiation occupy the same room. We close with wisdom and begin with intention.
Sunday, September 13 is a 5. 9 + 1 + 3 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 23, which reduces to 5. The week opens with movement, freedom, change, travel, surprise and the willingness to experience a familiar place differently.
Wednesday, September 16 is an 8. 9 + 1 + 6 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 26, which reduces to 8. The show carries authority, material reality, money, responsibility, karma, leadership and the power to create lasting structure.
Sunday, September 20 is a 3. 9 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 0 + 2 + 6 = 21, which reduces to 3. The week closes through communication, storytelling, creativity, voice and the courage to name the new meaning out loud.
The movement from 5 to 8 to 3 tells a complete story. Five changes the scenery. Eight asks what you will build and sustain there. Three gives the experience language so it can help somebody else. As a Life Path 9, I feel the completion underneath all three numbers. The purpose is not to erase the family story. It is to become wise enough to stop handing the wound to the next generation.
“Real power is not controlling the place, the person or the outcome. Real power is knowing who you are wherever life places you.”
Telling the light from the dark 🕯️
Everything I have written so far asks you to go back to something with clear eyes. A place, a family, an old love, a version of yourself. That takes discernment. And discernment is the thing I want to talk about honestly this week, because it does not only apply to places. It applies to who you let stand between you and God.
The dark almost never announces itself. If it looked like the dark, none of us would walk toward it. It arrives flattering you. It tells you that you are special, chosen, more gifted than the people around you. It creates urgency, because urgency stops you thinking. And it slowly makes your world smaller while calling that protection.
The light does the opposite, and it is often less exciting. The light hands you back your own authority. It tells you the truth even when the truth costs it the sale. It is willing to be questioned. It leaves you steadier and more capable of making your own decisions, not more dependent on the person who delivered the message. If you walk away from something spiritual feeling smaller, more frightened and more attached to one person, that was not light, no matter how beautifully it was packaged.
I am going to be very direct now, because somebody needs to say it. There are a lot of people doing this work who are not doing the job. Some are careless. Some are performing. And some know exactly what they are doing, and they are doing it to frightened people with money.
Here is what I will not do, and what nobody doing this properly will do. I will not tell you that you are cursed and then charge you to remove it. I will not manufacture fear and then sell you the only cure. I will not claim I am the only one who can reach your people or your guides. I will not tell you a crisis is coming unless you keep paying me. I will not make you afraid to leave. Any practitioner who does those things is not protecting you from the dark. They are the part you needed protecting from.
Here is what a real practitioner does. Tells you what they actually see, including the parts that are inconvenient. Gives you the reading, not a dependency. Says I do not know when they do not know. Sends you to a doctor, a therapist or a lawyer when that is what you genuinely need, and does not treat that as a loss. Charges a clear price for a clear service, with no escalating emergencies. Leaves your free will exactly where they found it.
You are allowed to ask questions. You are allowed to check somebody’s track record. You are allowed to leave in the middle of a reading that is making you feel sick. Your discernment is not disrespect, and anybody who treats it that way has told you everything you need to know.
“Light gives you your power back. Anything that takes your power and calls it protection is the thing it warned you about.”
The JRL Tarot card of the week 🃏
Knight of Cups
A romantic messenger, a heartfelt invitation, an emotional offer, and the courage to follow what feels meaningful.
The Knight of Cups arrives with an invitation from the heart. Sometimes it is a person. Sometimes it is a place. Sometimes it is life asking whether you are willing to approach an old landscape with a new emotional posture. My friend returned to Texas and found love waiting in a form she could not have predicted. I returned to Spring Hill and found myself living inside a story I once refused.
The Knight is sincere, but sincerity still needs discernment. Do not romanticize the past simply because it returns. Ask whether the offer is emotionally available, practically grounded and respectful of who you are now. Home should not require you to abandon yourself in order to belong.
“Follow the invitation that lets your heart open without asking your boundaries to disappear.”
Your 12 rising-sign tarotscopes 🔮
I pulled one card for each sign from the complete 78-card JRL Tarot deck. The pull was made without replacement, so every sign receives its own distinct card, and every image below is the actual matching artwork from the deck.
Read your rising sign first, because it places the September 10 Virgo New Moon into the correct house of your chart. Then read your Sun for identity and your Moon for the emotional layer. Tarot does not take away your free will. It names the pattern so you can meet it awake.
How to use the reading: notice the sentence that makes your body pause. Write the journal answer without editing yourself. Then choose one action you can complete before the First Quarter Moon on Friday, September 18 at 4:44 PM Eastern.
♈️ Aries
Queen of Wands
Lead your schedule the way you lead a room
Sixth house • work, routines, health, daily life
The Virgo New Moon planted a seed in your sixth house, and the Queen of Wands says your daily life needs your full presence, not another punishment disguised as a routine. Aries, decide what matters, remove the task that exists only to prove how much you can endure, and bring some personality back into the work. The Sun and Mars sextile supports practical action. If your environment affects your energy, change the environment. The goal is not to become a machine. It is to build a life where your fire has somewhere useful to go.
Your private journal question: What daily choice would make me feel more alive, capable and in charge of my own energy?
♉️ Taurus
Ten of Swords
Let the ending be an ending
Fifth house • creativity, pleasure, romance, children
The New Moon is growing inside your fifth house of joy, love and creativity, but the Ten of Swords says something draining has reached its final chapter. Taurus, do not call an ending a failure simply because it hurt. A romantic story, creative identity, performance pressure or belief about what you are allowed to enjoy may be over. Let it be over. Venus square Pluto can make attachment feel like destiny, but intensity is not the same as life. The dawn in this card matters: the mind stops fighting, and the heart gets space to want something new.
Your private journal question: What ending have I been reopening because I have not yet imagined the joy that comes after it?
♊️ Gemini
Five of Swords
Nobody has to lose their dignity
Fourth house • home, family, ancestry, foundation
The Virgo New Moon is rebuilding your fourth house of home and emotional safety. The Five of Swords asks whether an old family argument has become more important than the peace you say you want. Gemini, you are excellent with language, but not every clever sentence creates understanding. Mercury trine Uranus gives you a new way to tell the story. Use it. Name the boundary without humiliating the other person. Leave the conversation that only exists to keep the wound active. Home becomes safer when nobody has to lose their dignity for somebody else to feel powerful.
Your private journal question: Which conflict keeps my home tied to the past, and what would peace require me to stop proving?
♋️ Cancer
Queen of Cups
Sensitivity with a boundary
Third house • communication, siblings, learning
The Virgo New Moon grows in your third house of communication, and the Queen of Cups sounds like you at your highest expression: intuitive without becoming overwhelmed, caring without taking ownership of everybody’s feelings. The Sun in Virgo supports Mars in Cancer on Monday, giving your emotional truth practical language. Have the family conversation. Write the message. Listen to what is underneath the words, but do not answer a question nobody asked. Your sensitivity is information. It becomes wisdom when it also includes a boundary.
Your private journal question: What truth can I communicate with compassion without becoming responsible for the response?
♌️ Leo
Nine of Wands
Tired is not finished
Second house • money, values, self-worth
The New Moon is building through your second house of money and self-worth. The Nine of Wands says you are tired, but you are not finished. Protect what you have learned. Review the budget, the price, the agreement, the password, the asset and the boundary that keeps your resources from leaking. Leo, resilience does not mean saying yes to another burden. It means making sure the next chapter does not require the same financial or emotional wound as the last one. Stand guard over your value without turning every opportunity into an enemy.
Your private journal question: What boundary protects my resources, and which wall only protects an old fear?
♍️ Virgo
Knight of Swords
Move, but verify
First house • identity, body, presence, beginning
This New Moon belongs to you, Virgo, and the Knight of Swords wants movement. You may suddenly know what to say, where to go, or which version of yourself is finished. Move, but do not confuse speed with certainty. Mercury opposes Saturn on Friday, so the plan may meet a rule, a delay or a necessary responsibility. That is not punishment. It is quality control. Let your new identity be intelligent enough to accept correction. Speak clearly, act decisively, and leave enough room for your body to arrive where your mind has already gone.
Your private journal question: Where am I ready to move quickly, and what fact must I verify before I do?
♎️ Libra
Strength
Gentleness is not weakness
Twelfth house • rest, endings, dreams, hidden patterns
The New Moon is growing in your twelfth house, where the work is private and the truth often appears through dreams, exhaustion, intuition or the need to withdraw. Strength asks you to stop treating gentleness like weakness. Libra, you do not have to force closure. You do have to stop feeding the pattern that keeps reopening the door. Mercury in your sign can explain everything, but the body may need quiet more than another analysis. Rest with intention. Choose the boundary calmly. Let self-respect become the part of you that no longer needs an audience.
Your private journal question: What would quiet courage look like if I stopped trying to make everybody understand it?
♏️ Scorpio
Four of Pentacles
Security needs circulation
Eleventh house • community, friendship, future plans
The New Moon activates your eleventh house of community and future plans while Venus moves through your sign. The Four of Pentacles asks what you are protecting, and what you are suffocating. Scorpio, discretion is wise. Isolation is not always protection. Venus square Pluto can expose control inside friendship, collaboration, audience-building or money connected to a group. Share the vision with people who have earned access, but stop gripping the outcome so tightly that nobody can help you build it.
Your private journal question: Where has my desire for control become more expensive than the risk of healthy collaboration?
♐️ Sagittarius
Two of Swords
Take off the blindfold
Tenth house • career, reputation, leadership, legacy
The Virgo New Moon is growing in your tenth house of career and public direction. The Two of Swords says the decision you keep postponing is now part of the work. Sagittarius, gather the facts, but do not use research to avoid choosing. Mercury opposite Saturn on Friday may put a contract, deadline, authority figure or serious conversation in front of you. The blindfold is not ignorance, it is the attempt to keep two incompatible futures equally available. Remove it. A mature choice may disappoint somebody and still be the correct choice for your legacy.
Your private journal question: Which career decision becomes obvious when I stop trying to preserve every option?
♑️ Capricorn
Page of Pentacles
Permission to be a beginner
Ninth house • travel, belief, learning, publishing
The New Moon grows in your ninth house of belief, teaching, travel, publishing and education. The Page of Pentacles gives you permission to be a beginner. Capricorn, mastery does not begin with a title. It begins with attention. Enroll, outline the chapter, research the trip, organize the legal document, or practice the skill that turns a spiritual idea into usable knowledge. The Page is not glamorous, but the seed is real. Your worldview changes when you give the new information a place in your actual calendar.
Your private journal question: What am I ready to study seriously enough that it can change my future?
♒️ Aquarius
Eight of Swords
The trap is partly assumption
Eighth house • intimacy, shared money, trust
The Virgo New Moon is working through your eighth house of shared resources, intimacy, debt, grief and energetic exchange. The Eight of Swords says the trap may be partly made of assumptions. Aquarius, look again. You may have options around the payment, agreement, boundary, disclosure or emotional conversation that fear has edited out of the picture. Venus square Pluto can intensify the need to control what feels vulnerable. Ask for the number. Read the terms. Tell the truth. Freedom begins when the imagined consequence is separated from the actual one.
Your private journal question: What option becomes visible when I replace assumption with verified information?
♓️ Pisces
Seven of Pentacles
Review the return
Seventh house • partnership, contracts, clients
The Virgo New Moon is growing across from you in the seventh house of relationships and contracts. The Seven of Pentacles does not demand an immediate ending or commitment. It asks for an honest review of the return on your investment. Pisces, what has this relationship, client agreement or collaboration produced, emotionally, spiritually, practically and financially? Patience is sacred when growth is happening. Waiting becomes avoidance when the soil has been empty for a long time. Speak about the timeline, the labor and what both people are willing to tend next.
Your private journal question: What am I patiently cultivating, and what am I merely waiting to become different?
Wednesday night on The Jae Rae Show 🎙️
Live Wednesday, September 16, 2026 at 8:00 PM Eastern on The Jae Rae Show. Call 515-523-7469 or text 315-523-7469.
This Wednesday we are talking about more than houses, hometowns and addresses. We are talking about emotional geography: the places our bodies remember, the rooms where we learned to become small, the cities we rejected because they carried somebody else’s decision, and the surprising locations where life eventually gives us a different ending.
I will break down the week’s astrology in plain language, explain the 26/8 numerology of the show date, take your calls and texts, and ask the question underneath every return: am I being sent back to repeat the wound, or am I returning with enough authority to reclaim the meaning?
Bring this question to the show: where do I feel most at home, and is that answer based on geography, people, safety, memory, identity, or the version of myself I am finally allowed to be?
“A house holds your belongings. A home holds the version of you who is permitted to exist there.”
Before you go…
This week is not asking you to deny what a place meant to you. It is asking whether that meaning is still the only meaning available. You are allowed to remember the sixteen-year-old who felt abandoned without making her fear the permanent landlord of your adult life.
The Moon is waxing. The light is returning. The New Moon intention now requires a choice, a conversation, a boundary and an action. You do not have to love every part of where you came from. You do have to decide whether the past is still permitted to name where you belong.
“You can honor the version of you who had to leave and still welcome the version of you who is ready to return differently.”
The cliffhanger. There is a spiritual difference between being sent back and going backward. If you miss it, you can mistake your healing for punishment. Wednesday night I am explaining the difference, and asking whether the place you rejected may be holding a part of your purpose.
Love always,
Jae Rae ✨
