You have been told you are intimidating by people who meant it as a criticism. You have also been the person everyone turned to when something needed deciding.
Life path 8 is the number of material mastery. Money, authority, scale, the visible world. Spiritual people get uncomfortable about the 8 and they should not. Learning to hold power without being deformed by it is as serious a spiritual assignment as any other.
An 8 is not here to renounce the material world. An 8 is here to master it and stay recognisable.
What life path 8 actually means 🔢
Your life path number comes from your full date of birth. Add every digit of it together, then keep reducing until you reach a single digit. The one exception is 11, 22 and 33. Those are master numbers and they are never reduced. Someone born on December 11, 1983 adds 1+2 + 1+1 + 1+9+8+3, which is 26, and 2+6 is 8. And if there is a zero anywhere in your date it still counts. Zero adds nothing to the total, but it takes up space, and it magnifies whatever number is sitting beside it.
An 8 total puts you in a lifelong relationship with power and resources. That relationship will have at least one collapse in it. The collapse is not a failure of the path, it is the curriculum.

You make things happen at a size other people find unrealistic. You are comfortable with risk that would keep most of your friends awake.
You are also, at your best, extremely generous. An 8 who has made it and remembers where they came from moves real weight for other people.
The shadow nobody warns you about 🌑
The scoreboard eats you. There is always a bigger number, and the 8 who is chasing it cannot tell you what the number is for.
Domination is the other shadow. You are used to being right and used to being in charge, and those two habits combine into something that flattens the people around you without you noticing.
And the fear underneath, which almost every 8 has and almost no 8 discusses: that without the achievement there is nothing there.

How do I work out my life path number?
Add every digit of your full birth date together and keep reducing until you have a single digit, stopping only at 11, 22 or 33, which are master numbers and stay as they are. So 14 March 1990 is 1+4+3+1+9+9+0 = 27, then 2+7 = 9.
Is 8 a good life path number?
There are no good and bad life paths, which is the first thing to let go of. A 8 is not luckier or unluckier than anything else. It is a set of lessons, and every number has a version of the person who learned them and a version of the person who did not.
Can your life path number change?
No. It comes from your birth date and your birth date does not move. What changes is your personal year, which cycles one to nine and completely alters what the same life path feels like from year to year.
What is the difference between a life path and a personal year?
Your life path is the whole road. Your personal year is the weather this year. A 8 in a 1 year and a 8 in a 9 year behave like different people, which is why the year matters more than most people realise.
