Everyone comes to you, life path 6
You were probably the responsible one before you were old enough to consent to it. Somebody needed holding and you were there, and it set a pattern that has run ever since.
Life path 6 is the number of care. Family, home, community, the people who depend on you. It is the warmest number in the sequence and the one most likely to quietly run itself into the ground.
A 6 will carry everybody. The lesson is that you are one of the everybody.
What life path 6 actually means 🔢
Your life path number comes from your full date of birth. Add every digit of it together, then keep reducing until you reach a single digit. The one exception is 11, 22 and 33. Those are master numbers and they are never reduced. Someone born on August 19, 1977 adds 8 + 1+9 + 1+9+7+7, which is 42, and 4+2 is 6. And if there is a zero anywhere in your date it still counts. Zero adds nothing to the total, but it takes up space, and it magnifies whatever number is sitting beside it.
A 6 total means your life keeps arranging itself around responsibility for others. Not as a punishment. As the arena you were given to grow in.

You make places where people feel safe. Not by saying so, by the hundred small things you do that nobody catalogues.
You are also loyal in a way that has gone out of fashion. When you say you will be there you are there, and people build their lives on that.
The shadow nobody warns you about 🌑
Self-sacrifice that nobody asked for. You give past the point of usefulness and then feel unappreciated for something the other person never requested.
Control is the shadow that surprises 6s. Care and control use the same hands. When you decide you know what is best for a grown adult and start arranging their life around it, that is not love any more, however it feels from inside.
And martyrdom. The tally you keep and never show anyone. It poisons the thing it is counting.

You are drawn to people who need fixing, and then exhausted by people who need fixing. Both halves of that are true at once and it takes most 6s decades to see the loop.
Try being loved by somebody who is already well. It will feel wrong at first, because there is no job in it. That feeling is the thing to sit with.

Say no to one reasonable request this week. Not an unreasonable one, that is too easy. A reasonable one you could absolutely have absorbed.
You are testing whether you are loved for what you do or for who you are. You already know the answer. You just have never let yourself check.
I care for others. I am also somebody worth caring for.
What does life path 6 mean?
Your life path is the number you get from your full birth date reduced down, and it describes the road rather than the personality. Life path 6 is about care, responsibility and home. The shadow of it is carrying people who never asked you to and resenting it.
How do I work out my life path number?
Add every digit of your full birth date together and keep reducing until you have a single digit, stopping only at 11, 22 or 33, which are master numbers and stay as they are. So 14 March 1990 is 1+4+3+1+9+9+0 = 27, then 2+7 = 9.
Is 6 a good life path number?
There are no good and bad life paths, which is the first thing to let go of. A 6 is not luckier or unluckier than anything else. It is a set of lessons, and every number has a version of the person who learned them and a version of the person who did not.
Can your life path number change?
No. It comes from your birth date and your birth date does not move. What changes is your personal year, which cycles one to nine and completely alters what the same life path feels like from year to year.
What is the difference between a life path and a personal year?
Your life path is the whole road. Your personal year is the weather this year. A 6 in a 1 year and a 6 in a 9 year behave like different people, which is why the year matters more than most people realise.
