A 9 house has a very wide door
All sorts of people end up here. A 9 house is generous, tolerant and unusually open, and it tends to collect people who need somewhere to be for a while.
It is also the number of endings, which is why so many people find that a chapter of their life closes at a 9 address.
A 9 house is where things complete. That is a gift if you needed something to end and a strange feeling if you did not.
How to work out your house number 🔢
Your house number uses the number on your building and your apartment number if you have one, not the street name. 1234 Main Street Apt 1A is entered as 1234 1A. Add every digit together and reduce, converting any letter with the Pythagorean system, where A to I are 1 to 9 and it starts again at J. A door number of 1116 totals 9, which is already a single digit. The exceptions are 11, 22 and 33, which are master numbers and are not reduced.
What this house feels like to live in 🏠
Broad and slightly transient. Emotions run closer to the surface here than at other numbers.
It is a compassionate house. People are kinder in a 9, including to themselves.
Who thrives here
People in service work, artists, anyone whose life is oriented outward rather than at accumulation.
It also suits anyone consciously closing a chapter, because the house is doing the same thing.
Where it costs you
Boundaries. A 9 house lets everybody in, including people who take more than they give.
It can also be emotionally heavy. If you are carrying grief, a 9 will not lighten it for you, though it will let you feel it properly.

No. The number on the door is what carries it. Some numerologists add the street, I do not, and in practice the door number is what people actually feel.
Can I change my house number?
You cannot change what is on the building, but you can add. A written number inside the door is a real practice and plenty of people use it. It softens rather than overrides.
What if I do not like my house number?
Then work with it deliberately rather than resenting it. Every number has a livable version, and a 9 house lived well is nothing like a 9 house lived unconsciously.
